• Joining a minyan: Chabad UAE's prayer-services page (re-read 2 Nov 2026) says there is no public synagogue in Dubai. It publishes no times, address or minyan registration form; the only form is a general message form at chabad.ae/contact. Its pages read 1 Nov 2026 said visitor prayers and Shabbat meals at Address Marina (now JW Marriott Marina) had ended, yet the home page now shows an undated Shabbat registration banner, so WhatsApp +971 56 958 2971 for current arrangements before booking. Informal minyanim were reported closed after the Nov 2024 killing of Rabbi Zvi Kogan (Wikipedia, History of the Jews in the UAE, lists three synagogues in the UAE; the FT of Dec 2025 described the community as lying low).
• Abu Dhabi's Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue (Abrahamic Family House, Saadiyat Island, opened 2023; sanctuary, two mikvahs) is a separate emirate and community (listed above as a shul entry). Saadiyat Island's visitor page says worship visits follow prayer times with no booking; the weekly schedule is on abrahamicfamilyhouse.ae/synagogue, a script-built page whose times could not be read. Totally Jewish Travel (May 2026) says minyanim are not guaranteed, so confirm access first. You cannot travel on Shabbat, so stay in Abu Dhabi to use it. Chabad UAE lists Elli's Kosher Kitchen (Aloft) and Sababa (Shabbat packages, +971 50 438 3770) there.
• Prepaid Shabbat meals: Rimon's Shabbat Market (rimon.ae/collections/shabbat-market-1) posts its menu on Tuesdays, dishes AED 35-79; Friday orders close 14:30; delivered Fridays only, by 15:30, sealed and room temperature. Treat Kosher and Elli's also make customised Shabbat meals (WhatsApp); ask about cancellation terms before prepaying. Rimon rents hot plates (AED 50 plus AED 200 deposit).
• Friday closing: Rimon and La Boucherie 16:00, Shawarma Express 16:30 (Chabad UAE says 17:30), Chlew 15:30, Treat Kosher 14:00. Le Fournil posts Fri to 17:30 and Fantastico (Google) to 18:00, but Chabad UAE says both close an hour before Shabbat. Dubai candle lighting is about 17:10-17:30 from Nov to Jan (calculated), so buy challah by mid-afternoon. Motzei Shabbat: Kikko's Sushi & Meat from 20:00, Mosaica 20:30, La Boucherie 30 min after Shabbat.
• Where to stay: kosher food and Chabad contacts are in Al Wasl/Al Safa, Business Bay and Downtown, about 15 km from Dubai Marina, and Chabad's Marina visitor prayers were reported ended (see the Chabad entry). TJT (May 2026) says hotel kosher dining is now less consistent. Pick a hotel you can walk from to your meal host and ask about a Shabbat key or elevator; no hotel source here confirms one.
• Hotel Shabbat setups in 2026 were tour-operator packages: Sublim'K's Sukkot 2026 at Palazzo Versace Dubai (25 Sep-5 Oct, now over) listed daily minyanim, Shabbat and Yom Tov services and glatt LaMehadrin meals but no Shabbat key (TJT), and Shainfeld Tours (Jul 2026) names Conrad Dubai for a kosher package with a minyan hall and mechanical Shabbat keys. Ask the operator whether a single Shabbat can be booked.
• Local hechsher is EAKC (Rabbi Levi Duchman); Rimon says its imported goods are EAKC too, and BASSAR's meat is EAKC. Chabad UAE says Duba Catering and Bamidbar are not EAKC. At DXB, Dubai Duty-Free sells kosher wine; a kosher food outlet at DXB was not found online as of Nov 2026 (checked Google and Chabad UAE). Bamidbar (MAG 214 Tower, JLT; +971 50 537 5697; Google: Fri 09:00-17:30, Sat from 20:00) and an undated Google review say it sells a Shabbat package at AED 750 (2 fish, 2 mains, 5 salads, 2 sides), quality criticised; ask who supervises before relying on it.
• Low profile: the WSJ (8 Dec 2024, reprinted by To Vima) said public Jewish prayer in Dubai was 'all but shut down' since the Gaza war, leaving discreet private services, and that authorities had asked the community to keep a low profile. Do not count on a walk-in minyan; arrange through Chabad UAE first.
• Rimon entry: two undated Google reviews say door staff asked shoppers to show they are Jewish before entering. Expect to be asked, and message Rimon on WhatsApp first for opening hours and Shabbat Market pre-orders.
