Eruv

Eruv: partial

The Orlando Torah Center page says its neighbourhood has an eruv but gives no boundaries, maintainer or status; its map link (orlandovaad.org/eruv.html) now redirects to the Vaad homepage, which says nothing about an eruv. Chabad lists Drury Inn and Westgate Lakes as inside an eruv. No status page found, so call Chabad (800-765-7905) before carrying. Maitland has a separate eruv (Dec 2023; Rabbi Sholom Ber Dubov inspects weekly; withintheeruv.com is general info only).

What locals would tell you

  • Shabbat meals: Chabad of South Orlando serves visitors Friday night dinner ($59 adult, $45 child) and Shabbat lunch ($36, $25). Reserve on the Guests - Shabbat Meals form at jewishorlando.com (card payment); dinner reservations close the Tuesday evening before. Call 800-765-7905 for the start time and any hotel delivery, which the page does not state.
  • Where to stay: the walk-to-Chabad cluster is Sand Lake Rd / International Dr - Drury Inn about 5 min, Rosen Inn and Comfort Inn about 10 min (TotallyJewishTravel says 15 for those two). Drury, Rosen and Comfort are tagged observant-friendly there, but none states a Shabbat key or elevator, so ask the hotel. Hotel Landy (listed by Chabad as Crowne Plaza, 20 min), Westgate Palace and Cabana Bay (25 min) are longer walks, and Disney-area hotels are a drive from any shul. The Wyndham at 8001 International Dr closed in April 2024 even though Chabad's list still shows it. Chabad also runs seats at the Encore and Champions Gate villa-resort shuls (reserve via jewishorlando.com).
  • Hotel doors: the only Shabbat-related guest report found is at Drury Inn, where a Booking.com reviewer says staff know Shabbat needs and will open the room door if necessary; Booking.com lists key card access (no mechanical key) at Rosen Inn and Westgate Palace, so ask any hotel before Friday about staff-assisted entry or a manual key.
  • Friday timing: Kosher Grill is open Fri 11:00-15:00 and closed Sat; Kosher Eatery is closed Fri and Sat. Stock up Thursday or Friday at Winn-Dixie on S Apopka-Vineland (glatt meat, Chalav Yisroel dairy, challah, wine; open to 22:00), Publix or Trader Joe's on Sand Lake Rd.
  • Hechsher: the local agency is RCF, the Rabbinate of Central and North Florida (Rabbis Konikov and Zibell), so look for its seal. Sabbaba Market (195 S Westmonte Dr #1104, Altamonte Springs) is open on Google (closed Mon and Sat, Fri until 16:30) but Chabad's list says it is no longer under the Florida K hechsher, so ask Chabad of Altamonte (407-720-8111) what supervision applies.
  • Parks: Disney sells sealed kosher meals - ask at least 24h ahead (407-939-3463, WDW-DINE; hours not published), and glatt airline-style meals can be picked up at any Disney resort. Satu'li Canteen, Rosie's, Sunshine Seasons, Cosmic Ray's and Magic Kingdom table service serve kosher without notice, subject to availability. Universal's page says kosher and halal fresh meals cost $95 each and need at least 5 days' notice plus a dining reservation (email food.allergy@universalorlando.com; the page names no agency, Chabad's list says RCF). Neither publishes Shabbat guidance, so pre-plan Shabbat food.
  • Mikvah and eruv: the only active mikvah found is Mikvah Yisrael near UCF, by appointment, about a 45-min drive from the parks (Chabad's mikvah page; a South Orlando mikvah is under construction, no date, and an undated TotallyJewishTravel article calls the Eden Gardens mikvah 'soon-to-open'). Call Chabad before relying on any eruv.
  • Friday cut-offs: Krembo closes Fri 15:00, Catering by Motti 17:00 and Orlando Kosher Market 18:00 (all closed Sat), so shop well before candle lighting. Motti's last order for Shabbat is Wednesday 12:00; Publix and Winn-Dixie stay open to 22:00.
  • Confirm where Chabad's Shabbat meals are held: the booking page shows 7347 W Sand Lake Rd but no start time, and one visitor reported arriving there to find no one. Ask when you reserve (800-765-7905).
  • Eden Gardens (Kissimmee) is a kosher villa community with its own shul and kollel (see the shul entry), a kosher food truck (Eat N Gardens), a kosher grocery on site and, per an undated TotallyJewishTravel article, an eruv overseen by the kollel's rosh kollel; a 2026 Oyster guide also mentions winter daily minyanim. It is a drive from the I-Drive shuls, so ask its office (407-777-9488, Google listing) about Shabbat.
  • Not found online as of Nov 2026 (checked Google Places, Chabad's kosher list, Heritage and web searches): Kosher Cuisine (6807 Visitors Cir, 407-704-2464, named in a 2021 Heritage article); Zayde's Kosher Kitchen/Catering at the Rosen Plaza, 9700 International Dr (older articles describe room delivery; Google has a listing with no hours or reviews and Chabad's list omits it); and the Eden Gardens dairy kiosk Chabad once listed. Ask Chabad of South Orlando (800-765-7905) before relying on any of them.

Seen in older guides, checked Nov 2026: Mikvah at 708 Lake Howell Rd, Maitland: out of service after the Sept 2024 fire per Chabad's mikvah page (https://www.chabadorlando.org/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/4117103/jewish/The-Mikvah.htm), which now lists Mikvah Yisrael at 3144 N Alafaya Trail; Chabad of Greater Orlando meets at 2150 N Park Ave, Winter Park, temporarily · Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive (8001 International Dr): closed Apr 30 2024 per Skift (https://dlr.skift.com/2024/05/06/wyndham-orlando-resort-likely-to-close) and reported shuttered ahead of an InterContinental conversion by WFTV and Orlando Business Journal (19 Sep 2024); Google Places shows no hotel at that address, yet Chabad's hotel list still shows it. Not the same property as the Wyndham I-Drive Avanti Resort at 6515 International Dr, which Google shows open; not listed in hotels

Have it arranged: hotel confirmed, meals, driver →
