Italy · community hub: The Ghetto (Cannaregio) · airport VCE, about 40 min by car. Everything below was checked against the sources on each listing in November 2026; confirm times with the shul before you rely on them.
The canals are the boundary (no wire); the Comune grants the Community a five-year authorisation, renewed and expanded in April 2026. The Community's map (jvenice.org/doc/eruv.pdf, a drawing with no text) outlines the historic island in red and leaves out the Santa Lucia station and Piazzale Roma/Tronchetto side, the Arsenale zone and Giudecca; Lido and Mestre are outside. Acqua alta voids it, and no weekly status page was found online as of Nov 2026, so ask the Community or Chabad (they advise staying between the station and Rialto on the Ghetto side).
Community list: the only kosher residence in Venice, l'mehadrin; a mashgiach lights the fires at night (Jewish Link, Dec 2025). Own site: kosher breakfast upstairs, elevator and key access listed, check-in 14:00-20:00, kosher places within 3 min walk. Guests report: rooms use electronic key cards (Booking.com Q&A 2026), so ask for a manual key; one guest praised the Shabbat set-up with the fridge light off and a Shabbat clock provided (Booking.com 2026); a TripAdvisor guest (Mar 2026) says they have a set-up for Shabbat-keeping visitors. A 2017 Jewish Link piece on the same house (then Giardino dei Melograni) says Shabbat-friendly keys and Chalav Yisrael breakfast. Breakfast is uncertain now: Booking.com Q&A says the kitchen is currently closed and an Apr 2026 TripAdvisor guest found no breakfast, so confirm. Elevator exists; Shabbat mode not stated. Check-in 14:00, check-out 11:00. · +39 041 8226131 · +39 388 469 8228 · info@rimonplace.com
Six rooms in the Ghetto, about 1 min from the Chabad shul. Booking.com Q&A quotes the host: "All our rooms are with traditional keys!" (2026). Breakfast is not fully kosher: the host says "we are not a Kosher House, only bread and croissant come from the local Jewish bakery" (Booking.com Q&A), and a May 2026 Google guest also says pastries come from the kosher bakery; this corrects an older listing claiming a kosher breakfast. 2013 Reid's Italy lists Shabbat timers. Re-checked 2 Nov 2026: a Booking.com property Q&A answer again says the breakfast is kosher-style with bread and croissants from a kosher Venetian bakery, traditional metal keys, and breakfast currently served. Owner-operated, not staffed 24 h (TripAdvisor May 2026); check-in at any time if the arrival time is arranged in advance (Booking.com Q&A). Elevator listed by Booking.com; Shabbat mode not stated. Not on the Community's kosher list. · +39 392 685 9271 (Google listing)
Listed as in the Ghetto, about 1-2 min from the Spanish and Levantine synagogues. Guests say rooms have large kitchens, handy for self-catering Shabbat food. No kosher or Shabbat arrangements stated. Guests mention door-lock problems (Google review) and a physical key on the apartment keychain for a private bathroom outside the flat (TripAdvisor 2023); ask whether room keys are manual. Booking.com had no availability or Q&A for it.
On Chabad of Venice's recommended hotel list (5-star, 20 rooms): staff know Shabbat needs such as manual keys and switching off light sensors. About 4-6 min walk (map estimate) to the Chabad shul, inside the eruv per Chabad. Booking.com lists an elevator; its Q&A and guest reviews state no Shabbat elevator, manual key or kosher breakfast, so confirm. A TripAdvisor guest (Aug 2026) calls it a 3 min walk across the canal from the Ghetto. · +39 041 098 6298 (Google listing)
On Chabad of Venice's recommended hotel list (4-star, 67 rooms): staff know Shabbat needs such as manual keys and light sensors. About 8-10 min walk (map estimate) to the Chabad shul along Fondamenta Cannaregio. Booking.com lists both key access and key-card access, so ask for a manual key; it has an elevator (TripAdvisor guest, Oct 2026) and is by the Tre Archi stop. Kosher breakfast and Shabbat elevator mode not stated. · +39 041 244 0320 (Google listing)
On Chabad of Venice's recommended hotel list (4-star, 63 rooms): staff know Shabbat needs such as manual keys and light sensors. Near the train station, about 6-8 min walk (map estimate) to the Chabad shul, a good choice for arriving before Shabbat on foot. Guests report a lift to all floors (TripAdvisor Jul 2026) but small lifts (Apr 2026), so Shabbat-mode lift is worth asking about. Kosher breakfast not stated. · +39 041 220 6000 (Google listing)
Guests report: hotel provides metal keys (Booking.com Q&A 2026; Booking.com lists key access only, no key card). Breakfast buffet is not kosher (Booking.com Q&A). Check-in from 14:00, check-out until 11:00. Elevator listed; Shabbat mode not stated. Former monastery, a short walk from the train station and about 10-12 min on foot (map estimate) to the Ghetto, so no boat is needed on Shabbat. Not on Chabad's current hotel list; no Shabbat statement from the hotel found, so confirm the metal key when booking. Reception open 24 hours (Google). · +39 041 717333 (Google listing)
Quiet canal-side street east of Campo di Ghetto Nuovo, about 7-10 min walk (map estimate) to the Chabad shul. Not on Chabad's current hotel list; its own site and Shabbat searches show no kosher or Shabbat statement. Guests report two lifts that do not reach all rooms (Booking.com Q&A 2026), so ask which floor and stairs you get; no key information found (ask about manual keys). Check-in 14:00, check-out 12:00; breakfast not stated as kosher. Reception open 24 hours (Google). · +39 041 711001 (own site)

Seen in older guides, checked Nov 2026: Kosher House Giardino dei Melograni and Pardes Rimonim: older names for the guesthouse at Cannaregio 2874, now trading as Rimon Place (listed once above); no separate restaurant under the old names: Not found online as of Nov 2026 (checked Google Places, Community and Chabad lists). · Hostaria del Ghetto: a 2012 Jamie Geller article places a glatt kosher meat restaurant in the same building as the guesthouse; Not found on the current Community or Chabad lists as of Nov 2026, so not added and unconfirmed whether it still trades; ask Chabad Venice on +39 352 011 1770. · Jewish Community mikveh: jvenice.org says it is temporarily closed for extraordinary maintenance with no reopening date (page updated 27 Oct 2026) and the page gives conflicting contact details, so confirm before relying on it. · Scuola Italiana, Tedesca and Canton synagogues: visited on museum tours; the Community says Shabbat and holiday services are only in the Spanish (summer) or Levantine (winter) synagogue, so they are not listed as minyanim.
